Overview
A technology demonstration of how an enterprise manufacturing reporting platform can consolidate data from Sage Accounting, MISys Manufacturing, Excel, CSV, ERP and internal operational systems into a single governed BI experience — built entirely on this site's own React/Next.js stack, with no Power BI, Tableau or Looker embedded. It runs a fictional Australian manufacturer, Southern Cross Precision Manufacturing (AUD), over 24 months of fully reconciled synthetic data: invoice lines total to invoices, production consumption flows through to inventory, and purchase orders tie back to suppliers and receipts. The app behaves like a real BI tool — a collapsible-nav command centre with global filters, cross-filtering between charts, drill-through to transaction detail, CSV export, full-screen charts, a rule-based "Management Attention" panel, an interactive star-schema data model, and a data-quality & lineage view. Every number is computed by a reusable KPI layer (nothing hardcoded in a chart) and covered by reconciliation tests.
Problem Solved
Manufacturers run on fragmented systems — accounting, MRP, spreadsheets and shop-floor data that rarely reconcile — so leaders lack a single, trustworthy operational picture. This demo shows how a governed semantic layer over those sources delivers executive-to-transaction analytics (recession-proof KPI definitions, drill-through, lineage) without a per-seat BI licence, and how the synthetic sources here could later be swapped for live Sage, MISys, SQL, Excel or API feeds.
